Our Environment
The Board and organizing Committee are committed to the environment. Living on the shores – actually surrounded by water on all sides (we are a man-made island) we are very aware of how fragile our environment is. To support this philosophy we have taken on a number of initiatives.
We are trying to work with as little paper as possible. Printing in 2010 has been and will be kept to a minimum. We have yet to print any brochures – we are counting on our web presence, advertising both on line and radio and word of mouth to stimulate interest in our event. It’s a bit scary for us - but we are going to try very hard to hold to this pledge. You will also find almost no paper in our race kits this year. We believe this is a first in the running community.
If you can manage to travel in a group we will give you 1 free entry (for either the Marathon or _ marathon) per every 10 people you cram into one car/bus/train. Ask us about travel arrangements should you decide to bring a group – contact lisa@pecmarathon.ca.
